This weeks featured artist is Etel Adnan. She was born in Beirut in 1925, studied art in France and then moved to CA to teach philosophy for the University system. She began painting at the age of 30. Her paintings use strong lines and bold colors to create an abstract image. Our art project is based on her Planets and Satellites Series which she completed in 2020. Our work reflects her use of a pale pink background which she said reminded her of the light in the Middle Eastern desert. Etel Adnan was 96 when she died in November of 2021.
